What’s up guys? My name is Darren Gundling, aka Jett, and that picture at the top of this blog is a photo of me doing my thing! Just trying to slide into your lives with a little Cool Pony Music insight. Kind of a joke, but kind of not… Look, there is just a lot going on at Cool Pony Music right now. I want you in on it so that you can say you’ve been with us since the beginning! Let me tell you a little more about Cool Pony and myself.
This past week I did a lot of dancing in Dallas with my fellow Cool Pony Artist, Strand. Here is the thing though, I’m more than a dancer, I’m a rapper too. I don’t want to be one-dimensional so I’ve trained myself to do both. Cool Pony recognized this and has given me the chance of a lifetime. I’m extremely blessed, but I don’t get complacent. I’m hungry to make sure things keep trending upward. Dance is a passion of mine, but I’m excited to see where the road to being an artist leads me. Cool Pony hasn’t just accepted me into their family, they’ve challenged me. They make me work, make my artistry grow, and I can’t wait to continue to work on that and share it with you!
Strand and I went and did a lot of work, dancing in Dallas, but after that I was headed straight to the studio. I don’t put more time into one craft than the other. I make sure I’m on top of it. I grabbed some grub, headed upstairs, got stopped for some interviews, met a few new people, then it’s just me and the mic. I’m trying to grow into my roles with Cool Pony. As I said before, they challenge me. This isn’t me just going up to the mic, playing with a beat and laying something down that is mediocre. The bar is excellence and I’m trying to exceed it. Blessed to be apart of this ride and I hope you guys join us on it. I need to get back to working on music. It’s hard to be excellent if I spend more time writing a blog than writing and rapping! Thanks for reading, I’ll write again some other time.
